The hypodermic needle theory implied mass media had a direct, immediate and powerful effect on its audiences. The mass media in the 1940s and 1950s were perceived as a powerful influence on behaviour change.
Several factors contributed to this strong effects theory of communication, including:
- the fast rise and popularisation of radio and television
- the emergence of the persuasion industries, such as advertising and propaganda
the government realised the importance of the theory so he took it on to manipulate and control the public hearts&mind, the public could not escape from the media influence .

Angelina Jolie born June 4, 1975 s an American actress and model known for her humanitarian work with refugees. She has received three Golden Globes as well as an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. She also is an Academy Award-winning actress best known for her roles in the films “Salt,” “The tourist” and “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” She has three adopted children and has three biological children with actor Brad Pitt. She’s also known being a United Nations good will ambassador.
The stereotypical white middle class nuclear family living in the suburbs is being represented, the mum and dad with their children. The people featured on the cover represent the audience the magazine is targeted at which are women aged 35+ in a family. This a different Angelina as she plays her motherly role but this is different a way to the way she is presented through out the media.

In this photo she is represented to doing sexual gesture which makes her a little different to the pictures above and it is mainly targeted for the male audience as it also sexualised the way she is biting on the strawberry.

Angelina has been on the biggest magazine cover around in many she is really symbolised as a sex idol she is also represented towards the male audience however in some magazines she is represented as an inspirational person towards the audience who idolise her.
this shows that she is known worldwide as this is a French magazine and the way she is portrayed in her photo is very sexual as she has wet hair which indicates alot of things.

but in this magazine she is shown to be more classy and the audience is a different variety as it is more aimed at young women and also teenagers.

Consider the representations of the people and places depicted in the clip.  What meanings and ideas are being represented?

There’s no outside world interference, so the topic of every day is the here and now for these slightly colourless participants. Along these line stalk is mainly bitchy banter, discussion of clothing, haircuts, gym workouts and other arrogant pursuits as well as boring, childish babble about relationships. They are represented as middle/upper class and also their dialog make them sound like they are chavy and they also seem much laid back then usual people   . Even when they represent Amy for the first time you could tell that she loved Jordan also they include harry Amy gay cousin/friend then Amy gives reference to Alex Reid and peter André and because Jordan close friend is gay and Amy may put her shoes in  Jordan place as she may believe she could be the next Jordan.
